Royal Greenwich Scouts are Changemakers!

As Scouts, we’re Building Brighter Tomorrows and you can do that by taking on The Changemakers Challenge!

At Royal Greenwich Scouts, we empower young people to be active citizens and have their voices heard. With the release of The Scout Manifesto, Joseph our District Youth Lead, has created the Royal Greenwich Changemakers Challenge

Our Vision for 2024

2024 is the year of the General Election and this gives us a unique chance to amplify the voices of young people across the district, and ultimately all of Scouts. We aim to engage young people in active citizenship, help them understand the roles of local decision-makers, support The Scout Manifesto, advocate for meaningful changes, and represent their interests to local decision makers.

The Changemakers Challenge

Starting June 3rd, we’ve launched the Changemakers Challenge, which will run throughout 2024.

The challenge initially launched to Royal Greenwich Scouts, but following its success it has now been updated and is available to be used by Scouts all around the UK, and maybe even further!

This challenge helps young people become  Changemakers and have a story to gain their Changemakers blanket badge. On top of this fun badge they’ll also work on their central YouShape Award, and the represent section of the YouShape Award.

Young people will also fulfill requirements for numerous other badges as listed in each section’s booklet.

Championing Youth Voice

Joseph, our District Youth Lead, is championing this challenge. As a strong believer in Youth Voice, Joseph has worked tirelessly to ensure all young people’s voices are heard. He created the Changemakers Challenge as part of his Scouts of the World Award and is dedicated to supporting its success.

You can get in touch with Joseph to discuss the Changemakers Challenge, and ask any questions here: changemakers@royalgreenwichscouts.org.uk

Join Us in Making a Difference

Together, we support today’s young people in building brighter tomorrows and nurturing the Changemakers within every young person in Royal Greenwich.

Let’s empower our young people to lead the way in creating a better future for all.

Scouts and The General Election

During this pre-election period there are certain rules which charities must follow about campaigning. We’re here to support you and our young people during this time so you can understand what you can and can’t do. Please do make sure you read our general election guidance to make sure you’re always following charity law. It’s also a good opportunity help our young people to understand the importance of general elections and how they can become active citizens.

Funding and Recognition for Royal Greenwich Scouts
