Scout Manifesto

UN Convention on the Rights of the Child

The challenge will cover the following points:

Understand – Scouts will discuss what it means to have power and influence and be able to name people who have power or influence. They’ll then look at people who make decisions locally and what decisions they can make.

Manifesto – Scouts will read through the points in the Manifesto, evaluate them and write their own

Advocate – Scouts will take part in a troop forum with their leadership team and discuss what could be even better both for Scouts and their local area

Represent – Scouts will attend one of the District youth hustings and put their views as well as questions to Parliamentary candidates ahead of the general election.

Safety – All activities must be safely managed. You must complete a thorough risk assessment and take appropriate steps to reduce risk. Use the safety checklist to help you plan and risk assess your activity.

All Scout activities should be inclusive and accessible.

HM King Charles III has been confirmed as our new Patron, a great honour for UK Scouts.

The King continues a long tradition of the monarch giving their Patronage, dating back to 1912. This was when Scouts was granted its Royal Charter and HM George V became our first Patron.
