District Beaver Camp Craft Day at Avery Hill a Tasty Success

Date: 20th May 2024 Author: Joseph Shippam

The District Beaver Campcraft Day at Avery Hill was a resounding success, bringing together beavers from across the district for a day of practical outdoor skills and adventure. Beavers participated in activities including tent pitching, fire lighting and backwoods cooking.

Throughout the day, they learned how to pitch tents, gaining hands-on experience in setting up camp. They also delved into backwoods cooking, preparing and cooking meals over open fires.

The sunny weather at Avery Hill made the day even more enjoyable, adding to the overall positive experience.

A special thank you goes to Laura for organising the event and ensuring everything ran smoothly. As we continue to organise enriching activities for our Beavers, we are still looking for a Beaver Lead for our district events. If you’re interested in this rewarding role, please get in touch.

HM King Charles III has been confirmed as our new Patron, a great honour for UK Scouts.

The King continues a long tradition of the monarch giving their Patronage, dating back to 1912. This was when Scouts was granted its Royal Charter and HM George V became our first Patron.
